The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 238 Negotiating Terms

Listening to the chatter around her, Allison shot a glance at Declan's smug face. He was definitely doing this on purpose.

"Don't give me that look. I'm just putting on a show. You don't know my grandma. She loves to show off. Nothing beats showing off in front of others."

When Declan walked over, the Miles family didn't look too happy, especially Shirley.

"Oh, it's you. Mr. Walker, do you think our family cares about your little trinkets? Take them back. Allegra won't see you!"

Declan sneered, "I brought Ms. Bennett here to treat Allegra. Are you sure she won't see us?"

Miles and Shirley's faces changed. They noticed Allison standing behind Declan. With her stunning looks and elegant demeanor, Allison seemed more like a socialite compared to the unrefined Yasmin.

Because of Yasmin, Shirley had a strong dislike for the Bennett family.

"Her? A young girl treating illnesses? Declan, are you trying to get Allegra killed?" "Shut up. Ms. Bennett may be young, but she's a medical doctor and a student of the renowned Joe in the medical field. What do you know, you ignorant woman?"

Miles, at least, was reasonable and apologized to Allison.

"Ms. Bennett, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I've been to Serenity Manor several times looking for you. I didn't expect you to agree to treat my mother. Thank you very much!"

Miles's respect for Allison indicated her high status. However, his words implied his sincerity had moved her to treat Allegra. Miles was indeed shrewd.

Allison smiled slightly and looked at Declan, seeing the anger in his eyes.

"Miles, you misunderstood. Declan invited me. If it weren't for his request, I wouldn't have come."

Hearing this, Shirley was displeased and shouted, "Who do you think you are? The Walker family had to invite you multiple times? You're a fraud, conspiring with Declan to harm Allegra!"

Allison smiled at Shirley and said, "Mrs. Walker, are you stopping me from treating Allegra because you don't want to spend money or because you don't want her to get better?"

This hit the nail on the head. Shirley indeed didn't want Allegra to get better. She hoped Allegra would be angered to death by Declan, so she could accuse his family of being unfilial and take over the family business.

Declan sneered, "Shirley, do you think if something happens to my grandma, you can blame it on me? Allegra fell ill in your house. It has nothing to do with me! If it weren't for Oliver's misdeeds, would Allegra be sick?"

Miles glared at Shirley and quickly made a welcoming gesture.

"Ms. Bennett, please come inside."

Allison didn't move until Declan swaggered in. She then followed with her medical kit. Inside, Allison began examining Allegra. After checking her condition, she had a good idea of what was wrong. She looked at Declan and nodded.

"Let's talk outside."

Declan nodded and was about to leave when Allegra called out.

"Say it... say it here!"

Allegra's speech was slurred from the stroke, but her stubbornness was still intact. She wasn't about to let anyone else decide her fate. She saw herself as the head of the Walker family and wanted to make the calls.

Allison looked at Declan, who nodded. She then glanced at the others. Miles, catching on, had the servants leave, leaving just him and Shirley.

"Allegra's had a stroke and is paralyzed. Because treatment was delayed, it'll take at least a month for her to get out of bed. But the real danger is her coronary heart disease. Even though she's had a bypass, her heart is weak and slow. If her heart stops and it's not caught in time, her life is at risk."

Allison's words might not have been fully understood by Allegra, but hearing that she could die at any time made her anxious.

"Treat... treat me. I want to live!"

Declan smirked at Allegra. She valued her life, but if she hadn't been so sharp-tongued and hot-tempered, she might not be in this situation.

"A stroke requires massage therapy and medication. For the first week, I'll come daily for therapy. After a week, she should be able to sit up. After two weeks, she can get out of bed, and after a month, she can walk on her own."

Everyone, even Declan, was surprised by Allison's confidence.

"Allison, don't be too sure of yourself. What if you can't do it?" Shirley doubted anyone could be that skilled and thought Allison was boasting. Allison didn't get angry. She washed her hands, massaged Allegra's head for a few moments, and Allegra's speech became clear.

"Shirley, what do you mean? Don't you want me to get better?"

Everyone was shocked. Allegra, who had been slurring, could now speak clearly after a few massages. Shirley was too stunned to speak.

"Ms. Bennett, you are truly amazing!"

Miles praised her, but Allison remained expressionless. After finishing the therapy, she looked at Miles and Shirley.

"Actually, besides Declan's request, there's another reason I came today. I hope to discuss something with the Walker family."

Miles looked at Allison, then meaningfully at Declan.

"Are you here for Yasmin?"

Allison nodded. "Yasmin made mistakes, but she's still a member of the Bennett family. The Walker family has mistreated her. Shouldn't Miles give the Bennett family an explanation?"

Yasmin's situation was disgraceful. With the Bennett family members out of the country, Preston was insane, Hayden and Jasper were abroad, and Blair had left, Yasmin was left without support.

Seeing Yasmin's condition today, Allison couldn't ignore it. Despite Yasmin's

wrongdoings, she was still a young girl who had been mistreated.noveldrama

"I knew it. Declan isn't that kind-hearted. He just wants to embarrass us, bringing a

young girl to accuse us. Does he think the Walker family is easy to bully?"
