After sorting out her thoughts, Evelyn followed the crowd inside.

Once she arrived at the main hall of the launch event, Sebastian spotted her right away and waved her over.

When Evelyn walked up, he patted the seat beside him. "Sit here. Let's see if Silux Materials has made any breakthroughs in material technology. It's a good company to evaluate."

Evelyn, with a head full of thoughts, nodded. "So, is Silux Mr. Connor's company?"

Brandon Connor was the only child in his family. Instead of going into politics, he entered business. With high-ranking relatives often appearing in national news offering guidance, he was indeed a person worth considering for a partnership.

"Want to go say hello in a bit?" Sebastian recalled that the last time they visited the research institute district. Brandon seemed to have some minor misunderstanding about Evelyn and mistakenly assumed she wasn't very professional.

Brandon looked at them from the corner of his eye. "Do you guys know her?"

Silux Technology had yet to begin any collaboration with Flying Seal Group. By right, Evelyn was just Sebastian's assistant. How would she be acquainted with anyone in his company?

Seeing Brandon's confusion, Tristan immediately answered, "We just met. We bumped into her downstairs not long ago. Ms. Reed is actually kind of interesting."

Brandon chuckled, intrigued by the comment. "How so?"

Tristan said, "We were downstairs welcoming Mr. Grant and Ms. Moore when we ran into her. Ms. Reed walked right up and asked to speak with Mr. Grant in private. I'm not sure whether they know each other personally, but Ms. Moore actually agreed.

"However, Mr. Grant wasn't willing to speak with her in private. He didn't spare her pride and just walked off with Ms. Moore. Ms. Reed probably feels pretty awkward..."

Brandon didn't think of that. His brows slowly furrowed.

He looked at Evelyn again, who was sitting quietly. It turned out she wasn't peeking at him. Instead, she openly coveted him.

She had actually gone and asked Lucas to talk privately in front of Tiffany, his legitimate girlfriend? That was outrageously bold. Lucas had done well to reject her.

A woman like that only grew bolder. If one were to give her an inch, she would take a mile.
