The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Chapter 151

Evelyn was unaware of what was happening on Brandon's side. Although the presentation had yet to begin, she had been discussing Silux's newly released high-tech materials with Sebastian for a while.

She had already managed to roughly outline Silux Materials' pros and cons.

After finishing her notes, Evelyn noticed that Lucas and Tiffany had gone their separate ways. Tiffany had gone off somewhere. Meanwhile, Lucas had stepped away from the crowd and seemed to be heading

toward the main hall.

Evelyn immediately set down her pen and stood up, saying to Sebastian, "I'm going to the restroom."noveldrama

"Alright," Sebastian replied without even looking up.

Evelyn only intercepted Lucas when he was turning a corner.

Upon seeing her, he remained calm. "What is it?"

She tilted her head up. Her face was so gaunt, it made her eyes seem even larger and calmer. "I have something to ask you. Let's talk."

This time, she didn't pose it as a question. She stated her intent directly, leaving him with no room to refuse.

Lucas looked down at her. "Alright."

Evelyn glanced around. She wanted to suggest they find a quieter spot. There were too many people passing through here. She didn't want someone overhearing and Lucas using it as an excuse to blame her.

Just as she was about to speak, Lucas suddenly stepped toward her and lifted his arm to shield her side.

Evelyn turned and saw a line of staff carrying audio equipment walking by in a hurry. If they weren't careful, they would've bumped into her.

He kept her encircled in his arms, adopting a protective stance.

The flicker of surprise in Evelyn's eyes passed quickly. She didn't dwell on the ambiguity of his gesture.

Instead, she furrowed her brows and asked coldly, "I sent you the documents two months ago. Have you still not dealt with them?"

"Documents?" Lucas lowered his gaze to look at her, then shifted his attention elsewhere as if something had caught his eye.

"Grandma wants us to spend Valentine's Day together. I think you need to clarify things with her as soon as possible."

Evelyn didn't want to drag things out any longer. It wasn't just bothering her, it was also making Maria work for nothing.

With her unstable blood pressure and bad heart, Evelyn didn't dare tell her the truth and shoulder the blame herself. Lucas needed to take care of the mess he created with his affair.

"Mr. Grant, Easter is over. It's time we put the matter of our divor-"

Suddenly, a commotion could be heard nearby. Evelyn instinctively turned to take a look. However, the tall figure standing in front of her moved abruptly, swiftly stepping past her.

He no longer listened to what she was going to say next. His face darkened slightly as he strode off quickly.

Evelyn opened her mouth, but couldn't stop him.

She didn't understand why he had agreed to talk things through with her, only to leave halfway without a word.

She turned and chased after him. She realized he was running straight toward Tiffany.

Only then did Evelyn realize something had happened over at Tiffany's side.

A man with red-rimmed eyes, dressed in a suit, was lunging toward Tiffany. He said, "Don't stop me! Tiffany is my girlfriend! We went to school together! Tiffany!"

Tiffany's face looked strained as she stared at the man, at a loss for words.

He shouted, "Tiffany, why are you ignoring me? We used to study in the library together!"

The crazed look in his eyes made it seem as if Tiffany were his muse or goddess. Tiffany had likely been startled, too.

Just as the man wanted to grab her, Lucas arrived. He seized him by the collar, yanking him back hard. The man stumbled and fell to the ground.
