Chapter 245
The past few days had been a blur of emotions, and I couldn’t shake the sinking feeling in my chest. Bradley’s absence was once again depreseing me Hai hadn’t been around for the last week, and no matter how many times I tried to convince myself that I should be focusing on the contest, I couldn (1 missed him. His presence, his touch, the way he made me feel like I was someone worth fighting for.
I couldn’t stop thinking about how we spent that night with each other. The attraction between us had nothing to do with what our bodies demanded it felt like it was an instinct. Something I couldn’t deny. And the way he marked me with his cum–God! I felt like he was claiming me in his own way
Every day without him was agony. I’d wait in my room, anxiously, hoping he’d show up. Nights were all the more unbearable. By the end of five days, Helt like I was a husk. I covered myself with a blanket and curled into a fetal position, crying silently. Why the hell was I so attracted to him that it weighed heavily on my mind and body? I needed to get away from here, escape, before my emotions led me to my ruin. The Alphas, and Luna trials didn’t mean a thing to me. I was never meant for this world.
Despite trying to put my mind back on track, I wanted him more than ever. So when I heard the knock at the door, I jumped out of the bed, wiping my tears because only one person ever knocked on it. And it was Brad. But I wasn’t prepared for what came next.
I opened it to find Laura standing there, her expression smug as ever.noveldrama

I was shocked to see her. But I felt the weight of her words, and my stomach twisted. “What’s going on, Laura?” I asked, trying to stay calm despite the unease bubbling inside me. “When did you get discharged from the hospital?” I saw that her lips were a little swollen and the right side of her face was pale red. Like the hives were fading. And she had a hostile demeanor. As if she didn’t like to see me.
“I got discharged an hour ago, and came straight to meet you. Thanks to all the medication, I’m feeling a lot better now.”
“Th–that’s great to hear,” I replied, wringing my finger
. What did this mean for me? Dread coated my insides.
Laura turned her gaze at me. “I’m done with you,” she said, her voice cutting through the air like a knife. “You’ve done your part.”
I shook my head, confusion flooding me. “What do you mean? What are you talking about?”
Laura crossed her arms, looking at me with cold eyes. “It’s time for you to leave. I don’t need you here anymore. You’ve been useful, but now it’s time to go back to your little life in the human world. I wanted you to take my place in the contest. But I’ve returned. So you can leave. You were nothing more than a placeholder. So why are you so shocked? You can pack your bags and leave as soon as possible. I don’t need you as my maid anymore.”
Her words stung. They were meant to hurt, to make me feel small, and they succeeded. My heart ached at the thought of leaving the pack, of leaving everything I had come to love, of leaving Bradley. But I didn’t want to admit it, not to her, not to myself. “I don’t want to leave,” I whispered, almost pleading.
Laura’s lips twisted into a cruel smile. “You have no choice. The Luna trials aren’t for people like you. You are a maid, and now I’m done with you. I don’t need you here, and neither does anyone else. They all will understand it when I return to the final trial in a few days.”
Tears welled up in my eyes, but I tried to hold them back. “What do you want me to do?” I asked, barely able to speak.
“Like I said, leave,” Laura said firmly. “A car will be waiting for you. You’ll go back to the human world, and we’ll forget all about you.”
I stood there, frozen, unable to make a decision. Deep down, I realized I wanted to stay. I wanted to fight for my place here, for Bradley, for the life I had started to build. But I didn’t have the strength or the means like Laura to fight my case. I was nothing but a means to an end, and the sooner I understood that situation, the better.
With each word she spoke, the hope inside me faded a little more.
Seeing my hesitation, she added, “It seems you’ve forgotten your place, Summer. You are nothing but a girl whose father sold her to us only because he couldn’t pay his debts. You are here simply to make sure that you help me every possible way. So you better leave before I get mad and complain to my father about your insolence. After that, don’t blame me for the repercussions!”
I trembled at her words. Morelli was a feared mafia boss and he wouldn’t think twice before killing me.
