Bride of the Cursed Alpha (Auren and Lucien)

Rejected the alpha mate 246

Chapter 246

Laura POV

The phone call with my father had left me furious. His empire was falling apart, and the one person I could rely on to fix everything had turned into the biggest problem. For the past few weeks, he had called me, telling me how his power crumbled piece by piece. Businesses were getting raided, his associates were turning on him, and now he suspected it was all done by one of the werewolves. The realization made my blood boil as confusion raged in my mind. When I asked how he knew that it was one of the werewolves, he said that he had enough contacts to know.

“Laura,” my father had growled on the phone, his voice cold with frustration, “I don’t know who’s doing this to me, but have you seen this werewolf out there?” He sent me a picture of a werewolf who I felt like I had seen somewhere. It was right there in my memory, but eluding me.

Father said, “I suspect this wolf is the one behind it. One of my men saw him at all my places, and I do feel that he’s the only one with enough power and influence to pull something like this off. I don’t know why, but I know he’s involved.”

“I am not sure, daddy,” I replied. “But he does seem familiar. What’s his name?”

“Tarian.”

I was stunned. Tarian? He was Alpha Lucien’s Beta. Why was he going after my father? What was going on? Blood drained from my face. Why would he target my father? He had everything he could ever want. Why would he destroy the empire that I had been set to inherit? Did Alpha Lucien instruct him to do that?

Anger blasted in my chest like a dormant volcano coming to life. “Why don’t you complain about them to the authorities?I hissed. “He has breached a protocol between humans and werewolves by interfering in the human world!”

“I wish I could!” Father grumbled. “But I can’t because what will I report? That he destroyed my brothels and casinos? I can’t, Laura!”

“So what option are we left with?” I asked, frustration rising inside me. I wanted to destroy Tarian. I paused for a while and asked, “Does he have an old enmity with you? I mean, have you ever antagonized him or Alpha Lucien?”

“I haven’t! But Bradley had called me asking if he could pay Summer’s father’s debt.”

Then it clicked. “Oh. My. God.” It wasn’t Tarian. It was Bradley all the way. Earth shifted beneath me as my mind became dizzy with shock. So much happened and I didn’t even know about it. Was Summer a part of it? Bitch.

Bradley wasn’t targeting my father’s empire for power–he was after Summer. The human girl. The one who had wormed her way into the Luna trials *because of my health. The one who had no right to be part of this world.

Summer had been with Bradley constantly, and I had seen it. I had heard the whispers. The way Bradley had protected her. How he refused to let anyone see her nest. It was clear now. Bradley wasn’t after my father’s empire. He was after Summer. To ffee her from my father’s clutches. To take her away from

  1. me. And that, I couldn’t let happen.

I wasn’t going to let that pitiful whore take what was rightfully mine. And she was going to pay for what Bradley did to my father.

“Laura, be careful,” father said in a low voice. “The authorities are closing in on me. Right now, I’m in a safehouse, but it won’t be long before I get

caught.”

“But I know who was behind it, daddy,” I rasped.

“Who?” my father growled like a wild animal in a cage.

“Alpha Bradley.”

Daddy screamed and then I heard something shattering against the wall. “That fucker! Why didn’t I realize it earlier? There was no one in the town who could match my powers, and I was wondering who was destroying me so silently?

“So what do we do?” I asked, feeling as enraged as him. At this point, I wanted to wring Summer’s neck. Kill her for what we were reduced to because of

her.

My father calmed me and doled out the plan to me in the next twenty

thinutes.

After that, I marched straight to Summer’s room. She had no idea what was coming for her. As I knocked on the door, my heart raced, dot of rage is because I was about to finish this, and make sure that everything I had worked for remained mine. Even if my dad’s future was bleak, I still had Here are secure a good one by being Luna of Alpha Bradley.

When she opened the door, her confusion was evident on her face. I bet she wasn’t expecting me. I barely gave Her time to speak Summer, I said coldly pushing past her into the room, “it’s time for you to leave.*

At the end of our conversation, her eyes filled with tears. Nothing but satisfaction bubbled inside me. She was leaving. My plan was working, Everything, was falling into place.

I could almost taste the victory.

I turned on my heel and walked out of the room without looking back. But just before I left, I added, “Remember, Summer, we’re just a pain. And neve you’ve served your purpose. Go back to where you belong, and stay out of my way. You don’t matter anymore.”

As I walked away, I could feel the excitement bubbling inside me. My father had still one ace up his sleeve. Tomorrow, I will go for the final trial and come out victorious. Only five girls were left in the final contest. And in a way, Summer’s presence made it possible for me to reach this lovet i cha Red. “Ind a fool! She doesn’t know who she is dealing with.” With the way she behaved, I was sure that Bradley hadn’t said a thing to her about how he took down my father’s mafia empire. Well, it worked in my favor. She would be gone, and my father would abduct her, hold her as a leverage for me to were the trials.noveldrama

I would demand to marry Alpha Bradley, demand him to give money he owed to my father if he wanted Summer.

Everything I wanted, everything I deserved, was finally within my reach. I had one last thing to do–take care of Summer and make sure she was no longer a threat. And then, I would have it all.

A giggle escaped my lips. “You’re done, Summer. Because of you, Alpha Bradley would be mine.”

Now all my father had to do was kidnap her. Impatient as hell, I called Summer two hours later to make sure that she was on her way out. When she didn’t pick up the phone, I called father. “What’s the update, daddy?

“We’ve got her!” he chuckled darkly.
