Wilbur frowned at Harrod, seemingly falling deep into thought.

He was more than capable of showing his true skills so that Hannah and Harrod would realize just how powerful he was.

He did, however, already have a plan of his own even before getting here.

He was in a foreign country now and would be sure to cause an international dispute if he were to cause any explicit trouble.

That would just make him a burden to Dasha.

It was important to note that on top of Freeca being full of crime syndicates and illegal weapons, the West had also already entered the area and even taken control of the government.noveldrama

It was quite a sticky situation.

Thus, Wilbur had never planned to handle any of this using his identity of Wilbur Penn.

He could not let Everest Foreign Trade be involved with this either.

Or there would be even more trouble after he left.

After giving it some thought, Wilbur said, "You can do what you want, then. I'll be supervising the entire progress, though."

"That won't be necessary. Harrod, take Mister Penn to the hotel. Get him the best room, so he can get some rest," said Hannah coldly.

Wilbur paused for a moment before letting out a sigh.

It seemed like Hannah did not even trust him.

That was not really her fault, though. Hannah was only desperate to save her father.

Wilbur smiled, and subconsciously left a spirit imprint of both her and Harrod.

Just then, Harrod said coldly, "Let's go, Mister Penn."

Wilbur got up, smiling at Hannah before he left with Harrod.

Both of them left the headquarters, and Harrod brought Wilbur to a hotel not too far away, leaving after settling Wilbur down in a presidential suite.

Wilbur stood in front of the window, falling silent as he took in the view before him.

This city certainly looked modern, but Wilbur knew just how wide the wealth gap was here.

The capital and the biggest cities were all developed, and extremely modern and innovative.

However, the rural areas were rife with poverty and famine. Some of its citizens did not even have clothes on their backs, merely covering their bodies with leaves.

This was the true side of investing here.

The people who invested in projects here usually came from much wealthier countries and were not actually doing the projects to help with Freeca's economy. They only wanted to profit from their investment.

The rural areas with high densities of poverty would give them cheap labor.

No one would even think about bringing these people into a better life.

Everest Foreign Trade was no different.

The richest people here would either come from foreign money, or they were local politicians or hooligans.

A long silence later, Wilbur smiled. He sat down in front of his computer, beginning to look up the local news.

Just then, over in Hannah's office, she was already contacting Keith Sackler. Half an hour later, the call ended.

"How did it go?" Harrod asked with a frown.

Hannah frowned as well, looking impossibly perplexed. "They won't see us, and demand that we transfer the money into their account, or they aren't letting Dad go."

"What? What if they take the money and don't let him go? What then?" asked Harrod.

Hannah sighed. "That's what I was thinking too. I told them that I'd only pay if I saw my father, and even then, I would only pay half. I'll only pay the other half after we get out safely."

"Did they agree to that?" asked Harrod.

Hannah shook her head. "No. They agreed to let us see Dad, but they'll only let him go after we pay the full amount."

There truly seemed to be no security in a deal like this.

"Well, we have no choice. I don't want Dad to be in danger for another second. Get everything prepared. We're going to see Keith," Hannah said firmly.

Harrod nodded. "I suppose we have no other choice. We still have a security team of roughly thirty people. Should we tell that guy first, though? He's representing Cape, after all."
